Company History
In 1989, Foundation Specialties began underpinning residential and light commercial structures for foundation repair purposes using hydraulically driven pipe piles and footing brackets. In the early 1990s, our technical capabilities expanded when the company acquired the equipment and trained workforce to install helical piles / helical piers for new construction and foundation underpinning.
In the early 2000s, our experience with helical piles led us to acquire our first drill for the installation of micropiles for new foundations, structural underpinning, and foundation repair using significantly higher capacity piles than were possible with helical piers. We also began training crews to use the drilling equipment to install soil nails and ground anchors for excavation support and earth retention structures. At this time, Foundation Specialties officially created a separate division for specialty geotechnical and geo-structural construction, Foundation Specialties Geo-Structural Construction (FSGC).
Today, with an office in Northwest Arkansas, FSGC maintains a fleet of drills, grout plants, high-pressure air compressors, and all of the drilling tools, load test equipment, and personnel to design, manage, and install micropiles, soil nails, ground anchors, rock anchors, tiebacks, helical piles, helical anchors and hydraulically driven steel piers. FSGC offers solutions for new construction deep foundations, underpinning, foundation repair, slope stabilization, landslide repair, retaining walls, trail bridges, support of excavation (SOE) / excavation support, and more.
