Job Description
A concrete line pump operator is responsible for driving and positioning the pump at job sites, operating the pump, and maintaining the equipment in clean and optimal condition. Safety is a top priority for both the operator and others on site. This role demands flexibility due to the competitive nature of the business, with irregular hours and frequent last-minute changes to accommodate company and customer needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive the pump truck safely and in compliance with all company policies.
- Transfer pipes and hoses to and from the truck and reposition as needed.
- Set up the system and clean the pump after each job, following all company policies and procedures.
- Complete and submit pump inspection forms and perform pump maintenance.
- Coordinate with the Foreman on project requirements.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Ability to operate other heavy equipment.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to read and understand equipment and safety manuals.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical problems.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to walk on uneven terrain and cleated walkways.
License(s) and/or Certifications(s) Required:
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL.
- Medical Card.
- Experience operating concrete pumps.
