PROJECT HIGHLIGHT

Greenwood High School Freshman Center

Construction of the new Greenwood High School Freshman Center required excavation immediately adjacent to the existing High School building.  Underpinning of the existing building was done first, then the excavation was accomplished in lifts as a soil nail wall was constructed.

FSGC’s role was to underpin the existing building with 37 steel piers and install 61 soil nails for for excavation support.

Learn more about the Greenwood H.S. Freshman Center.

FSGC is committed to safety, service, and excellence.  We look forward to partnering with you to design and build the best solutions for your project. Contact us today!

Construction site with dug trenches along a red brick building. Various tools, including shovels and a jackhammer, are scattered around. Metal rods protrude from the ground beside mounds of dirt.
A construction worker in a neon yellow safety vest and helmet operates hydraulic equipment to stabilize the foundation of a red brick building. The worker is standing in a dug-out area with soil and construction materials nearby.
A construction site with exposed foundation work. Metal supports and pipes are installed in the ground near a brick wall, surrounded by dirt and debris.
A construction site with two foundation supports visible in excavated ground. The supports are set against a red brick wall. The surrounding area is filled with soil and compacted dirt. Various construction markings are visible on the wall.
Two metal support piers installed in the ground near a red brick wall. The earth around the piers has been excavated, revealing the foundation. The scene appears to be part of a construction or stabilization project.
A construction site with exposed foundation work against a brick wall. Multiple holes are dug in the ground, and steel piers are installed for structural support. A worker is seen in the background near the equipment.
Close-up of a metal bracket with bolts securing it to concrete within a cavity in the ground. The surrounding area shows rough soil and rock, highlighting construction or excavation work.
A construction worker in a safety vest and helmet operates a compactor on a dirt trench beside a brick building. The trench is lined with spaced rebar and concrete footings. Excavator tracks and a bucket are visible in the foreground.
A construction site with a yellow CAT excavator on dirt ground. The area is flanked by brick buildings on both sides. The ground is partly excavated, revealing white concrete and metal structures. A backhoe is visible in the background.
Construction workers in orange shirts and hard hats stand in a deep trench next to a brick building. Pink chalk markings are visible on the ground and wall, indicating measurements or guidelines. The sky is partly cloudy.
Construction workers in safety gear operate heavy machinery at an excavation site. They are handling large drill bits, with exposed soil and construction markings visible. A brick wall is in the background, partially covered by a blue tarp.
A construction worker wearing a yellow safety vest and helmet operates heavy machinery to drill into the ground at a construction site. The earth is partially excavated, revealing marked areas and reinforcement rods on a dirt wall.
Two construction workers in safety gear work in a dug trench next to a red brick building. A CAT excavator is parked nearby. Orange cones and red markers line the site, and a hose runs into the trench, pouring a mix of concrete or mortar.
Construction workers inspect a trench with exposed rebar along a brick building. Pink markers highlight specific points on the dirt wall. The site is surrounded by earth and construction materials. Workers wear safety vests and helmets.
Construction workers installing steel reinforcement on a soil wall next to a building. They wear safety gear, including helmets and reflective vests. The site is outdoors, with a partly cloudy sky visible in the background.
Construction site showing a section of a building's foundation with exposed soil and reinforcement mesh. Metal bars and vertical waterproofing strips are visible against a brick wall. The area is surrounded by dirt.
Construction site showing a vertical retaining wall in progress. Metal rebar and netting are positioned against an earthen wall, with a wooden plank at the bottom. Some concrete has been laid at the top, and there are markings on the wall.
Construction site close-up showing a dirt wall reinforced with metal grid and wooden supports. Pink spray paint markings are visible on the surface.
Three construction workers in safety vests and hard hats apply concrete against a building's foundation using a spray hose. They stand on dirt in front of a brick wall, handling the equipment as wet concrete covers a mesh structure.
Construction workers are applying shotcrete to a large outdoor wall using a spray hose. They're wearing safety gear, including helmets and vests. The scene is sunny, and the wall is partially covered with the material.
A construction worker inspects metal rods protruding from a concrete wall. The ground is covered with dirt and construction tools. A brick building is visible in the background.
Two construction workers in safety gear reinforce a wire mesh against a partially excavated dirt wall. The ground is muddy, and various tools and materials are scattered around the site.
A small excavator is digging a large, deep pit in an area with loose brown soil. The excavation is adjacent to a tall brick building with a blue tarp on its wall. The sky is overcast.
A construction site with an excavated area showing layers of soil and rock. A retaining wall with reinforced steel is visible, alongside a brick building in the background. The ground is muddy and uneven.
A construction site with heavy machinery in action. A machine with a long arm is drilling or breaking into the earth, causing dust and debris to scatter. Pink markings are visible on the soil, possibly indicating measurements or guidelines.
Construction workers wearing safety vests work on a muddy construction site. They are reinforcing a vertical section of soil with wire mesh and stakes. A brick building is in the background. The ground is wet with puddles.
